Courting Anna is cate simon’s first novel. having written about law in the victorian novel in grad school, cate was intrigued to learn that the first woman lawyer in the u.s. was admitted to practice in 1869. The idea stuck with her, and courting anna was the result. while anna lives in montana territory, Cate’s next project is a mystery set in 1880s New York City. Leanna Renee Hieber is an actress, playwright, and the author of numerous gothic Victorian fantasy novels, which have received awards and acclaim. Her books include The Strangely beautiful saga, which began with the strangely beautiful tale of Miss Percy Parker and concluded with the recent Miss Violet and the Great War (Tor). Other work includes the eterna files series, a “Victorian x-Files” (Tor), as well as the magic most foul YA series (sourcebooks). her latest gaslamp fantasy supernatural suspense series, from kensington rebel base, is set here in New York City, but in a side of the city few will ever see. It begins with The Spectral city, with the sequel, A Sanctuary of spirits, due out in november.
